The Era of the Climate and Energy Ministry, Policy Forum on Energy Transition

Korea’s national strategy for responding to the climate crisis and achieving energy transition is facing an important turning point. Since the inauguration of President Jae-myung Lee, discussions on the establishment of the “Ministry of Climate and Energy” have been in full swing, and its role and vision as the ministry in charge of realizing carbon neutrality in Korea are attracting attention.
Until now, renewable energy policies have faced difficulties in private investment and field expansion due to the lack of consistent strategies, insufficient institutional foundations, and lack of local acceptance. Now, it is urgently required to present clear policy directions, establish an implementation roadmap, and build social consensus for the expansion of renewable energy.
Accordingly, the Energy Transition Forum will hold the “Era of the Climate and Energy Ministry, Policy Forum on Energy Transition” on Friday, June 20, at 10:00 AM at Seminar Room 2, National Assembly Members’ Office Building.
In this forum, experts from various fields, including industry, civil society, academia, and public institutions, will participate in in-depth discussions on the policy vision and implementation strategies that the Ministry of Climate and Energy should pursue, as well as ways of public-private cooperation.
We kindly ask for your interest and active participation.
