Climate is the Economy
National Assembly Forum on Energy Transition for Strengthening Korea’s Industrial Competitiveness

The global shift toward a decarbonized economy is reshaping industrial landscapes across nations, while intensifying competition for hegemony among countries striving to become manufacturing powerhouses.
For Korea, an export-driven economy, these changes may pose structural risks such as declining manufacturing competitiveness and industrial hollowing-out. Failure to respond effectively could lead to a contraction of the national economy as a whole.
However, every crisis also brings new opportunities.
Korean companies, leveraging their existing technological expertise and manufacturing capacity, can simultaneously drive green transformation and foster new industries. By leading in areas such as offshore wind, solar power, and power grids, they can capture new markets and secure fresh growth engines. Yet, corporate efforts alone are not enough. Stronger competitiveness can only be achieved when government and industry collaborate to improve regulations, build infrastructure, and provide supportive investment environments such as financial assistance.
This forum will bring together various industries and experts to share strategies for building an industrial ecosystem fit for the carbon-neutral era, strengthening competitiveness, and exploring avenues for cooperation.
We look forward to your participation and interest.
