Climate is the Economy
National Assembly Forum on Promoting the Wind Power Industry and Fostering Domestic Manufacturing

Wind power is a key energy source for responding to the climate crisis and strengthening energy security. In particular, offshore wind has the potential to become a global industrial hub.
However, the domestic wind industry faces growth constraints due to governance uncertainties and permitting delays in offshore wind, public complaints and environmental conflicts in onshore wind, and challenges in grid connection.
Yet, every crisis also presents a new opportunity.
To expand wind deployment, comprehensive efforts are required, including the establishment of long-term plans, expansion of transmission and distribution infrastructure, financial support, and the creation of industrial clusters. Such measures can contribute not only to the growth of wind and transmission industries but also to the decarbonization of manufacturing, enhancement of global competitiveness, and revitalization of local economies.
This forum will bring together experts from government, finance, industry, academia, and civil society to discuss strategies and cooperation measures to strengthen the competitiveness of Korea’s wind industry.
We look forward to your interest and active participation.
